Local businessman Peter Wallace has been selected as your candidate for the forthcoming local elections in May. He was brought up and educated on the island and lives with his wife and three children in Ballochgoy. Peter successfully runs The Carpet Warehouse in Rothesay.
Peter is involved with many local organisations trying to make a difference to the quality of life which we all enjoy.
“I enjoy living on Bute, which is why I want to do my part to make sure that the island remains a great place to live for our children and grandchildren” said Peter.
Peter has been serving as Secretary of the Bute Community Council for six years, ensuring that the views of the local people are represented at all levels of government as well as to public and private bodies.
Our island environment is of great concern to Peter who is a director of Bute Conservation Trust, which is responsible for the legacy of the Discover Bute Landscape Partnership Scheme, that invested £2.3 million in the islands natural heritage over the last four years.
As a member of the Fyne Homes management committee Peter is keen to see the continued provision of high quality affordable housing for people on the island. This will ensure our community can grow with each new generation.
