One of the UK’S most celebrated Designers, Raymond Wall, who was Chief Designer for Camper Nicholson for many years, was commissioned in the mid sixties to design the ultimate Motor Sailing Ketch for a descerning client, and this Yacht was to be not only a fast cruising Yacht, but also a solidly reliable Motor Yacht, capable of easily cruising in safety the waters from the Arctic to the Tropics, and also fit for circum-navigation by two persons.

After many months of detailed design and discussion, the beautiful Sailing Ketch – Highlander was commissioned for building, and the result fitted every requirement, (and more) for the delighted purchaser.

All original detailed drawings are included in the sale. The Yacht is easily managed by two persons, and the very attractive internal panelled lay-out offers superb accommodation for owner, and guest party.

Only the finest materials were used in the Yachts construction & finish, and these have been sympathetically continued during a recent re-fit to ensure the original character, and Raymond Wall design was followed.

Entering Port el Kantaoui, Tunisia, 2012

The present owners, Alan & Harriet MacLeod, were both for many years owners and operators of fine motor yachts and sailing yachts, which were chartered on the western isles of Scotland, and upon retirement they were lucky enough to purchase ‘Highlander’ for extended cruising from her base at the fabulous marina of Port el Kantaoui in Tunisia, which is a perfect location for Mediterranean cruising (to East or West.)

Unfortunately due to recent knee and hip replacements (with serious complications) their long term plans have now changed, and very reluctantly this beautiful refitted yacht is available for sale.
